Gema Prieto, LMFT

For the last 13 years, Gema has been serving the Central Valley counties as a mental health professional. She attended California State University, Bakersfield, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix.  She is grateful to serve and work with the patients of Lake County. Gema was born and raised in Kern County.  Growing up in Kern County, she developed a sense of community which led to finding her passion in working with populations from marginalized communities and the barriers they encounter when accessing health services. Throughout her professional career, Gema has worked with various populations such as survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, foster care and adoption families, youth and adults with mental, emotional, and/substance use disorders. As well as experience and knowledge of working with justice involved, undocumented and unhoused populations. Gema is bilingual in English and Spanish and will be working remotely. Gema enjoys spending time outdoors, Disney trips with her family, and DIY projects.
